It snowed here on Thanksgiving Day, and it was my first experience with a snow thunderstorm. The flashes and cracks close by were a reminder of the vulnerability that comes with living at high altitude. What’s “missing” in this photo are the Sandia Mountains, whited-out by a combination of snowfall and cloud-fog. Found [...] I was finishing a quick afternoon hike through Saguaro late in the afternoon and caught a tiny red spot on a small flower bud. The color arrested my steps, I backed up, got the camera out, and what ensued was straight out of a silent movie; wherever I aimed the camera, the bug went [...] Went for a brief midday walk, found some more miniature flower universes to take photos of, added them to the Saguaro Spring album. Here are a couple of samples of this small addition… Or maybe leafhugger is more accurate. This photo taken late summer 2007. |
